My work at the Ayurvedic Academy included responsibilities commonly associated with the following positions: Internet Marketing Director, Associate School Director (Co-Director in many areas), Marketing VP and CIO. About half of my work hours were spent on Internet Marketing related projects, and half were spent fulfilling school leadership and operational related tasks (listed below, in descending order of responsibility).
Associate Chief Academic Officer - Higher Ed.
Assists the Chief Academic Officer in overseeing academic programs, faculty affairs and many academic support functions, and works to ensure the fulfillment of institutional mission and goals. Provides academic vision and leadership. Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Fundraising Manager (As a Student Recruitment Strategy Director, rather than a Fundraising Manager)
Develops fundraising strategies and oversees all aspects of fundraising programs. Creates fundraising goals and solicits funds to meet these goals. Identifies new donors and organizes initiatives to solicit funding. May be responsible for developing major gift opportunities and writing grant proposals. Chief Admissions Officer - Higher Ed. (Primarily Overseeing and Training the Admissions Staff)
Oversees a team of admissions officers who are responsible for determining the admissibility, transferability of credit, and residency availability for undergraduate students. Supervises the preparation of reports and proposals, and responds to inquiries from students and external third parties. Responsible for the overall undergraduate admissions program. May also be responsible for graduate student admissions. Requires a master's degree with at least 10 years of experience in the field. Researcher III - Academic (Director Level)
Carries out research/development activities. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results. Compiles results and prepares technical reports and documentation of outcomes. Requires a master's degree and at least 5 years of direct experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Superintendent (Co-Director with the school owner/Director or Associate Level)
Determines overall academic strategy and goals for a school district. (Ayurvedic Academy had two school locations and a distance learning program.) Establishes, plans, and directs the policies, procedures and programs for the school district. May require a Ph.D in education with at least 10 years of experience in the field. Provost (Associate Level)
Develops academic policies and programs for a college or university. Directs and coordinates activities of deans and chairpersons of individual colleges. Advises on personnel matters. Professor - Communication - Higher Ed. (Taught Staff)
